Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 7, 2026

MyBarCounter is operated by The Corner LLC (“MyBarCounter,” “we,” “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the MyBarCounter iOS app and the web dashboard at mybarcounter.com (together, the “Service”), how we use that information, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We collect only what we need to run the Service, support you, and keep the system secure.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your email address, a password (stored as a hash by our authentication provider), and the name of your business. If you add additional locations, we store their names too.

Inventory and operational data

You and your team enter inventory items, counts, purchases, sales, par levels, waste log entries, transfer records, and weekly cover page summaries. This is the core data the Service exists to manage. You may also upload distributor invoices (PDF or image) and count audit photos.

Voice and audio data

When you use the iOS app's voice counting feature, your microphone audio is streamed to our speech-to-text provider for transcription. The text result is what gets stored in your inventory. Audio is processed in transit and is not retained by MyBarCounter.

Device identifiers

The iOS app generates a per-install device identifier and an optional device name (e.g., “Front Bar iPad”) so that owners can see which device made which count and so devices can sync correctly.

Diagnostic and crash data

We use an error-monitoring service to capture crashes, exceptions, and performance issues. These reports include the type of error, the screen or function where it happened, and limited device context (OS version, app version). They help us fix bugs.

Support chat messages

If you use our in-product AI support chat, your chat messages are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. We do not use these messages to train any model.

Payment information

If you subscribe, payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We store a customer reference, the plan you are on, and high-level subscription status.

Email and logs

We send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, weekly reports if you opt in) through our email provider. We keep standard server and security logs to operate the Service.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the Service: voice transcription, syncing your inventory across devices, generating reports, processing invoices, and showing your dashboard.
  • To authenticate you and protect your account.
  • To bill you and manage your subscription.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • To improve the Service by analyzing crash reports and aggregate usage trends.
  • To meet legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We share information only with vendors that help us run the Service (“subprocessors”). Each is contractually required to handle your data in line with this policy and only on our instructions.

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
  • AssemblyAI — speech-to-text transcription.
  • Anthropic — AI categorization and AI support chat.
  • Sentry — crash and error monitoring.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Vercel — web hosting.
  • Stripe — payment processing.

We may also disclose information when we have a good-faith belief it is required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MyBarCounter, our users, or the public.

If MyBarCounter or its assets are acquired or merged with another company, your information may transfer to the successor, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Data retention

We keep account and operational data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, we keep the data for a limited period so you can reactivate without losing your history, then delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion at any time (see “Your rights” below).

Crash and diagnostic data is retained for up to 90 days. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days, except where a longer period is needed for security or legal reasons.

5. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit. Data at rest is stored on services that encrypt the underlying volumes. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel and is logged. We use row-level security in the database so one customer cannot read another customer's data.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. You can also object to processing and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can edit most of your account information directly in the dashboard. To request access, deletion, or export of personal data we hold about you, email privacy@mybarcounter.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no opt-out required for those activities.

You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

7. Children

MyBarCounter is a tool for licensed alcohol-serving businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International users

MyBarCounter is operated from the United States and our subprocessors primarily store and process data in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those of your country.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of the page. If the changes are material, we will give you reasonable notice (for example, by email or an in-product notice) before they take effect.
